Concrete Texture Problem

HI,
I think the concrete pads were called “dispersal bays” (check with Hendon?). From memory of WW2 pictures, they would have had sandbags around them for protection.

regards
Colin

Yes they were properly known as dispersal bays but informally as Frying Pans and Spectacles. That's interesting about the sandbags, I think some of them had bunkers as well but the amount of info online is really tiny. I could use a bit of artist's license but I don't want to overdo it ! One of the pads is labelled in the RAF Driffield book as an "MG Test Bluff" which I imagine refers to Machine Gun ?
