My recruiter never told me about this MOS in 1988 when I went in. I was a fleet truck mechanic (light wheeled vehicle mechanic, 63B) in the army. Got out in '95. I always thought civilian contractors did railroading for transporting military equipment. In the army I had to load trucks onto flatcars and secure them in a detail a couple times. Railhead detail during Desert Shield in 1990. I started my army career in the Reserves then went active duty a year later.
