Short answer is no if you own a newer version of Trainz, the DLS will show you newer incompatible content as available as an update. I made a saved filter that hides anything above build 3.7 but dependencies can still be downloaded by mistake. If that happens, I use the Show Asset Version command to see if a compatible version is available and then use Download this Version to get it. Then I delete the incompatible one. You can also download a route with Download this Version and then stop the download while it is collecting the dependencies and use show dependencies to get the list and use Download this version to get the right ones. I agree, it is a pain but that is how it is.
