Who knows how this turntable works? I tried several forums, but nobody knows the right answer. At every solution a train derails. First attaching the stubs to the yard rails, pointing to the pivot and then attaching to the pit and only in that sequence doesn’t work: the train derails. I only can think of another sequence but also that doesn’t work. Maybe it has to do with the config.sys which in my opinion is a script. In the past in which I was a model railroader you could change a script belonging to an asset to achieve the result you wanted. For that was a manual. In the manual of Surveyor 2.0 you find nothing about that turntable. The helpdesk knows nothing about it, several forums don’t know the solution, so I ask the specialists if they can help me.

I’ll be very grateful, if somebody can help me, I am already during some weeks looking for the right solution.

Kijd regards,

You need to attach <kuid:522774:100048> 297 120 ft Turntable Stub to the turntable first. The red end side goes to the center and the double circles facing outward. When aligned correcly it will 'snap' into place. Then attach your other tracks.

Thank you for your advice. You are not the first one who gave me this advice. So I did it before with the same turntable you said. But what I am trying a train keeps derailing. What can be the cause? The rails, stubs and bridge are in a straight line and I used the sequence you mentioned with the red end of the stub at the pit. More I can’t do. Nevertheless a train keeps derailing. What I think is peculiar, is a train doesn’t derail on the moment the first wheels pass the attach point of the stub, no it drives a little further and then the message appears: train derailed. I might expect: the train immediately derails, but that is not the case. It is a riddle to me.

Maybe you can give me a clou, but I don’t know a solution.

Kind regards,
Carel

The one I mentioned works best. The only thing I can think of is that the stub is not connected to the turntable. When you place the red tab on the edge of the pit you should see it snap to the turntable and line the two attachment points with the outer one on the turntable. The stub attachment to the turntable is important for the script to work on allowing the train to cross from turntable to spline.

Both Stagecoach and Christopher 824 thanks for you reply and video. By the combination of the reply and the video I knew, what I did wrongly. I used Surveyor 2.0 and tried to align the the stub, track and bridge. It always ended with a derailing. By the video it became clear to me I had to use the old surveyor and by the description of Christopher it became clear the stub had to snap to the edge of the pit and not aligning as another person advised me. I made a sample and within 5 minutes it worked. I even know now what I can do in combination in this review in both Surveyors So thank you both. After a couple of weeks asking finally I've got the solution.

kind regards
Carel
