Chris Sawyer Locomotion Discussion

I know this isnt Trainz exactly. But if anyone has or plays Chris Sawyer Locomotion there has been development on a open source for it, like OpenTTD. If you like OpenTTD or Transport Fever I highly recommend this game and its only 6 bucks on steam. You can then update your copy to OpenLoco which adds newer windows support and adds many nice features lacking in the original release like building when paused and no vehicle breakdowns.

Here is a link on how to get OpenLoco running on your version: https://steamcommunity.com/app/356430/discussions/0/4768721849826772242/

Thanks for the link to that. I used to play Locomotion as well but found it less fun than the old Transport Tycoon and tried Open TTD using DOS Box.

Former Trainz content creator Pikabird made some content for Open TTD.

Locomotion is up there with some of my favorite games of all time, since the day I picked it up from a Scholastic Book Fair around 2005 or so. I still have the old disc, but I also have it on GOG. I would assume OpenLoco installs pretty much the same way on the GOG version?

Yes doesnt matter how you have the game. You download the OpenLoco .zip from github and paste those files on to the original game. And I also found that this site has the best US Locos and Rollingstock mods for the game. Almost every engine you can think of: https://www.locomotiondepot.net/amitrains/chicago
