I thought I'd post here that recently, Amtrak moved a Bombardier HHP-8 they retired to Washington DC (not powered). The locomotive is apparently gutted and being prepped for use on the Vermonter as a cab car. What are people's thoughts on this new approach?
I'm so happy to see those hippos again. Even if they're cab cars, I still like how HHP-8s look. But, I'm sad that they wont necessarily be under power.
Think they would make fairly good Cabbage cars, but to be the most useful would probably need to have 1 end "boxed off", for streamlining and so you could get to it from the cars.
