Patching TRS19 (North American) Version Error

When I start TRS19 (North American) version, which is at build 105096, I get the message that a patch is available. I have tried several times to apply the patch that take TRS19 build 105096 to 105100 but the patch fails each time at Step 1 of 2 with this message, "Patch failed:failed to read source data: 'http://dl1.n3vgames.com/Patch/STREAMS/trs19_q3/460/db4479ba28356db3349788612a916a3f.txt' "

Am I supposed to be able to patch this version of TRS19? If so, what does this error message mean?

For such an old build, probably the best way to upgrade to the latest patch, is to download the offline installer on Mytrainz and once installed, point that install at your current local data folder. You should then have SP4. The base game is the same for everyone, permissions decide what you have access to.

In MyTrainz I don't see anything about an offline installer. Only full or online and they reference build 114841.

OK, I got the "offline" patch installed. One final question.

New/Revised userdata-redirect-map.txt file AFTER update to build 114800 (SP4) reads like this:

"c:/auran/trs19/trainz railroad simulator 2019" "C:/Users/torino72/AppData/Local/N3V Games/trs19/build be9rrmb11"
"c:/auran/trs19/trainz railroad simulator 2019/trainz railroad simulator 2019" "C:/Users/torino72/AppData/Local/N3V Games/trs19/build aqj0t6771"

build be9rrmb11 contains all my local and original and other folders from my old TRS19 build 105096 version. build aqjot6771 was created by the SP4 (build 114800) update I just ran.

Both the old and new build folders contain the same folders EXCEPT that the old build has an additional folder for SCREENSHOTS. All folders in the new build are empty EXCEPT CACHE and LIBRARIES. LIBRARIES in the new build is the same size (113 files/0 folders) as that of the old one. CACHE in the old build is much larger (8424 files/5360 folders) than CACHE in the new build (657 files/431 folders). PACKAGES in the old build contains 16 folders whereas PACKAGES in the new build is empty.

My questions is this. The on line instructions for Windows, which were written for TANE, say I can hand-edit the userdata-redirect-map.txt file but provides no additional instructions on how the edit is done. In my userdata-redirect-map.txt file above do I just switch the sequence of the the old and new path, or can I simply delete the path portion directing it to the new update (build aqj0t6771)?

One other note: When I start TRS19 build 114800 and Content Manager it shows only built-in files; none of the old TRS19 files.

A second note:

I just realized that the SP4 "patch" did not update/replace any of the old TRS19 files. Instead it created another directory one step lower in my old TRS19 folder and wrote the new files there, as shown in the two paths below.

C:\Auran\TRS19\Trainz Railroad Simulator 2019\ (contains all files of the old build 105096)

C:\Auran\TRS19\Trainz Railroad Simulator 2019\Trainz Railroad Simulator 2019\ (Contains all the files of the new build 114800)

So, if I click the "old" TRS19 icon on the desktop it loads the old 105096 build. The "new" icon loads the new 114800 build which does not include anything but built-in files.

So, I modified the userdata-redirect-map.txt that looked like this:

"c:/auran/trs19/trainz railroad simulator 2019" "C:/Users/torino72/AppData/Local/N3V Games/trs19/build be9rrmb11"
"c:/auran/trs19/trainz railroad simulator 2019/trainz railroad simulator 2019" "C:/Users/torino72/AppData/Local/N3V Games/trs19/build aqj0t6771"

To look like this:

"c:/auran/trs19/trainz railroad simulator 2019" "C:/Users/torino72/AppData/Local/N3V Games/trs19/build be9rrmb11"
"c:/auran/trs19/trainz railroad simulator 2019/trainz railroad simulator 2019" "C:/Users/torino72/AppData/Local/N3V Games/trs19/build be9rrmb11"

and fired up TRS19 build114800.

The result is a mess. Once TRS19 loaded it immediately kicked off an extended database repair. After the "repair" I had a ton of "missing dependencies" that had not been there under the older build 105096. I also has a lot of faulty assets. When I started Trainz (Start Trainz) it slowly loaded, showing Routes and Sessions from build 105096. I select one session, a small route one, and it never loaded (Black Screen) though WTM says it is "Running" along with TRS19 under Processes. I had difficulty shutting it down via Windows Task Manager. I tried once more to Start Trainz but it never responded. NOTHING! So, I'm deleting my TRS19 and reinstalling from a backup the old build 105096 version that I created before I started all of this. At least that version works.

The database repair was for a new data-folder because TRS2019 couldn't find the old one.

Your best bet is to click on the launcher.
Click on Trainz settings
Click on install tab.
Click on the three dots (...)

Windows Explorer opens up

Browse to the data folder you want to use.
Click on it.
Click on Select.

A quick updating translation-tables runs, and you need to restart.

If all goes right, selecting your "old" data folder means you've selected your old data folder and no DBR will be required.
