Scissors wye track

Slave to my route
Hi all, as work starts on my new route, Port Charleston I would like to ask about a scissors wye track. It's a bit of exotic trackwork, but are there any rough dimensions to go by to make a good looking scissors wye track?

On a track like that it's all a mater of where you put the spline points on the curved track.
The spline point should almost exactly half way between the main line and the entrance to the shed.

The book "Custom Line Atlas Layouts HO Scale Railroads" (Armstrong, John H. & Thaddeus Stepak, 2nd ed. 1971, Atlas) has two scissors wye templates, one for a 45-deg crossing and one for a 60-deg crossing. The 45 would seem to suit your application better; it uses #4-1/2 switches on the main and the standard Atlas wye switch which is a #6 on either side.

:B~)
