Opera, Chrome and Trainz

A service information, I would say.


A month ago I installed a new browser on the pc, Opera. Chrome was working worse and worse and with problems so I put Opera as
default browser and my surprise was not only with the overall better performance of the equipment but Trainz works better, the material
Rolling too and it even looks better without touching the features of Trainz itself. I already knew that Chrome was consuming a lot of resources but not
so many even closed.

The installation of Opera is easy and is downloaded from its page; I have windows 7 and I don't know how it will behave with vista or 10 although it gives me that well.

Have used it for years on both Windows and Linux without issue. Bookmarks etc. can be easily imported/exported and it will pick them up from your current browser should you be giving it a try. Peter

I too have used Opera for years. It works pretty well. I have the other browsers installed as well and I found that Opera has a fair amount of good performance, and also now has a No-Crypto-hack capability built-in to prevent drive-by installs of crypo-miners.

Try Vivaldi. It's the best that I've ever used, even better than Brave. It also supports mouse gestures. Very configurable.

Thanks for excellent info on Browsers, I run Win10, but also still use a copy of Win 7 on one of my very old Computers, for Programs we like to use, but our too old for newer Windows......

In Win 10, I used to run Chrome, and sometime last year, I had some issues, lockups and such, I also heard there was other potential Security issues, so I dumped it for Windows Edge Browser only when I need to use it....My favorite for the last 20 years, is Firefox......And it works fairly well for me....Occasionally for one reason or another, a Website refuses to work properly in Firefox, so I switch to Edge and things are fine........

I will add, make sure whatever Browser you use, backup a copy of your Book Marks on another Drive etc, it really paid off when my SSD broke for C: Drive one of the early things I did, in reconstructing on new SSD Chip, was get my Browser going and import my Book Marks to it, so I get around the Network with my favorites, you don't realize what you have lost, till you don't have it.......And really need it.......:'(

Hope everyone has nice July 4th weekend, it's been Toasty here. We have a bit of Monsoonal air movement but unfortunately it just passes overhead. Maybe we get a small shower in the Mountains. Still hoping and a praying. This is our worst Drought here on the whole Pacific Coast, and interior states too......

So on to my Computer, still putting in a the last few programs, and being choosy now too see if I really need some to the others I used to run, less is more in my case........Love my HP NAS SSD Chip, it writes files a whole lot better than regular SSD Chips, except for the Samsung ones with Magician.....

I still have a bit of heating issues with my NVIDIA Chip, and only with Trainz, so I need to re check my settings on NVIDIA too see if I got them tweaked right.......I found the NVIDIA cooling file from Trainz Member......
