What's going on with Jointed Rail website?

Yeah you cant access it by the IP alone. this is not an error.

I do not yet have an answer for the timeouts, being unable to actually replicate them, but we are working with the host to identify and correct any problems.

@Hiballer I can see you log in on the site back end and there is no indication that anything is awry there, I suspect a deeper server or routing issue in yours and the other folks who have the timeout problems.

I just now went directly to the site. Didn't do a single thing except use the dropdown for "My Account." Turns out is WAS logged in, but didn't know it. Logged back out.

Opera "VPN"...not so sure, just another proxy server?

While I have read that some of you are having some success with the web access to jointedrail, I decided to take a quick peek through google to discover exactly what Opera's "VPN" is.

I found this:
https://thebestvpn.com/reviews/opera-vpn/

If indeed it is not really a VPN but some kind of proxy server I caution that you not use it to log into any website that may contain personal/financial information about you. If the Opera "VPN" is allowing you to bypass login problems, it is because as I have pointed out, that a US based proxy server seems to mitigate the blocking/timeout delays/lockout consistently with the jointedrail website.

After about a week of reliable access to jointedrail.com, something changed, again, last night.

Going to the start page resulted in only a banner with NO menus, hence no access to the site, regardless of what browser was used.

Today, it has reverted to the previous complaint here, I get exactly ONE access to jointedrail.com, and I am now locked out waiting forever. The site will no longer load.

It works just fine with a US proxy server, but as mentioned here before, logging in that way is not an option/unsafe.

What changed? How can we fix this?

Same here, except I am getting a simple timeout to the whole site. PING reports "No Path to Address."

Sadly we've changed absolutely nothing in the past week. Not a singular thing at all. Back to the drawing board with our webhost again

Interesting results here. Note the 4-5 and 7-8 hops in the second test (run three minutes after the first):

Looks like something along the backbone is taking hits. Some server there seems to be failing. I have a suspicion that those who are experiencing spotty connections have to go through one or more of those same ports.

The JR site is working for me and has been for the entire time this thread has been up. Could be a network issue for y'all.
