ALC-42 Goes to Washington to begin testing!

Well, ladies and gentlemen, the time has come. Amtrak's first ALC-42 No. 300 has left the Siemens Plant in Sacramento, California. Now comes her initial tests on the Northeast Corridor. I must say, good luck and god speed to the first ALC-42.
 
That really does look awesome. It would be nice if Amtrak had some passenger cars to match not only the paint scheme, but also the height as well. Imagine a completely matching trainset on Amtrak for once not counting the Acela and the TALGO.
 
The first ALC-42 was caught on Virtual Railfan's Galesburg, IL webcam on the eastbound California Zephyr as it stopped in Galesburg on June 14th and was included in their Grab Bag.
