Trainz Pro Routes is no longer. Their FTP server crashed and that was the end of them.

There are lots of other sites. I recommend checking through the Freeware announcements, or better yet do a search for Trainz websites. There was a compilation done sometime ago.

Msgsapper has updated the BI2 for later versions. Check the DLS.

Trainz Forge (https://trainz-forge.com): Great selection of payware and freeware transition-era content

K&L Trainz (https://kltrainz.com): Some of the best payware steam locomotives available for Trainz, with a small selection of freeware content

SRS Trainz (http://www.srstrainzdlc.com): Small selection of extremely high quality modern locomotives

The Erecting Hall (https://n8phu.wordpress.com): A huge amount of stuff, but most of it was originally made for older versions of Trainz, so may not be up to TRS19 standards in all aspects. Freeware only.

American Trainz Group (http://americantrainz.com): Pretty much the only site offering modern American passenger content.

PWeiser Trainz Downloads (https://www.jatws.org/PWeiser/index.htm): PWeiser's content is made for TS2009, but he's made a large amount of unique items that haven't been done by anyone else. Mainly transition-era electrics.

Cloakedghost (https://cloakedghost.com): Expensive but detailed payware. I have not purchased any so I cannot speak to its quality. Also a small selection of freeware.

jatws.org hosts far more than just PWeiser's work.

The Wayback Machine is also a great way to access sites, especially older ones. Here's a few that still work:

    https://web.archive.org/web/20120705...wnloads/files/ (USLW Content Database)

    https://web.archive.org/web/20080929...ownloads.shtml (Old RRMods site)

https://web.archive.org/web/20080705...-division.com/ (Virtual Motive Division site, old version)

Some more obscure sites that haven't been taken down:

https://colorado71.webs.com/locomotives.htm (Interesting selection of steam locomotives)

https://www.fallenflag-rr.com/locomo...-releases.html (Small selection of NYC, L&N and C&O steam engines, payware)

https://projectwestern.weebly.com/ (Cool site with lots of WP, SP and NP freeware, I don't know the status of the site so some downloads might not work..)

    https://socaltrains.weebly.com/ (JointedRail content creator's site)

    https://kbush122.wixsite.com/witsimulations (WIT Simulation's site)

    https://www.flamerailzzztrainz.com/ (Flamerailzzz's site)

    https://notch8reskinz.weebly.com/locomotives.html (Nice selection of freeware)

If you want more sites, use this thread and scroll to a post with your country of interest:

    Glad I could help

smworks pulled all their Trainz content. Some of it was rehosted at The Erecting Hall, some of it like routes were not. Maybe if you go to a past date of the site on wayback you might be able to see the Trainz content and even download it. We lost a bunch of good Trainz sites like checkrail, Trainz Pro Routes, and now the Backshop is gone, and the fate of their content is being decided.

I've always wondered why sites shut down so suddenly. Wish we could have a content database for sites like VMD and SMWorks who's content or site was pulled. I love the VMD Geeps, but I can't get them because no one ended up saving the link in the Wayback Machine!

I was lucky enough to get the old EMD Demo SD70ACe from VMD, but the payware models are replaced by the newer Jointed Rail ones since they're all made by norfolksouthern37. Don't worry about the VMD Geeps (if you're talking about the GP 7/9), because the Erecting Hall will have them back along with the F45/FP45 and SD45, but all as freeware. Just like I told someone else about the FP45, just please be patient and I'm trying to because since I came way too late on buying the original VMD SD45 and F45/FP45.

Once these models come back online fixed and even have new features (I even suggested a custom interior for the F/FP45 to replace the default F7 cab used in the original), I don't think these would look terribly out of place in newer Trainz versions (TANE & up) and all the old versions of the VMD website will still be used for your viewing pleasure. I'm just one of those people who somehow treat older content like they're old collectable toys despite not having collector's value and more easily mass produced since they're virtual, not physical.

You're right, when N8PHU gets them out it'll be worth the wait. I hope to have ATSF F45's pulling TOFC's around Tehachapi Loop, Burlington GP9's toiling away in Chicago and BN SD45's pulling coal traffic in the PRB.
