Where are the call-outs for the various controls located inside a cab?

As the question states...

I have some trams and other Russian and Ukrainian locomotives I would like to drive, but I can't start them up because I don't know where the switches are to do so due to the text call outs being in Cyrillic. If I knew where to find the text, I could copy it to a text file and come up with a cheat-sheet by translating the text.

Thanks.

For older assets such as 3.3, they could be found in the mesh-table entries using the tag "tooltip-text". From 3.6 the config tag changed to "tooltip-token" which contains a ascii key such as "cyl" that links to the string-table in the config. That can be used for localisation.

A lot of those cabs use photos of the real thing so some names are embedded in the image. Switch panels for example.

Thanks Paul. That's a start.

These trams have both flyout tool tips as well as images. I'll look around.

The cab asset specified by the interior tag in loco's config defines the controls so I'd take a look there if you haven't already checked it.

Thanks, Bob. I'll check there as well. I haven't had a chance to get back to that since I posted the question. Springtime clean up has taken precedent right now.

I found it in the Cab interior file string-table and I can take it from there.

Thank you for your help.

Which Russian and Ukrainian locomotives are you specifically talking about. There are several "start up" sequences video on YouTube. Just do a search.

Here is an example;
