Passengers asset <kuid:-25:1354> is missing meshes for standalone figures.

JCitron

Trainzing since 12-2003
I got the following error due to a missing mesh in the current people-mesh (Errors are in boldface). As can be seen, the person-mesh refers to the original people-asset <kuid:-3:10060>. This older asset, build 2.9, is now obsolete and has been superseded by the <kuid:-25:1354>, now build 4.8, breaks about 200-plus people and that in turn breaks many, many other assets and routes that rely on these people.

I performed a hack to remove the missing mesh issue hopefully temporarily until this issue has been resolved by downloading -3:10060 from the DLS White Pages then changing the Kuid to -25:1354. I then reimported the asset while open for edit, thus, overriding the built-in asset.

I didn't have any of McGallings figures so I downloaded a few into SP3. No fuss, no muss. They show correctly in game. Is it only if they were already downloaded that there is an issue?

In other words the standard way of getting any asset an 'update' breaks working again.

That's interesting, but I found other assets that were broken from this as well to the tune of well over 470 of them including train cars, stations, and other passenger-enabled assets, meaning I will have to download a ton of stuff over again even though it worked before.

Ditto here. I downloaded 10 others, not listed by Martinz, no problems. Creators user name is MGalling if anyone else want to try. I am using build 111951 from the beta release.

... well over 470 ....
wow that many! I only have 564k objects installed and after SP3 only 40 are faulty but that those were faulty before the upgrade. I haven't fixed them or dumped them yet so I don't seem have the wrong set of downloaded objects to show errors.

Yeah. It's the people that caused the errors for many of them. Once I replaced the asset reference, things cleared up to zero.

I've been investigating...

I downloaded the previous version of one of the people. It's a version 2.0 asset and works fine. The updated, meaning a 2.9 asset that references the -3:10060 Prod Passengers, fails because that product has been deprecated by -24:1354 which is now a build 4.8.

I opened up the built-in 4.8 asset and looked at the referenced meshes in there, and the mesh that my particular asset is looking for is not there in the built-in passengers commodity.

<kuid2:70791:35819:1> Male 19 sitting ---- Build 2.9 = Faulty asset
<kuid:70791:35819> Male19-sit ---- Build 2.0 works fine.

<kuid:-25:1354> Prod Passengers 2020 ---- Build 4.8 doesn't contain the referenced meshes needed by the assets above.

If this error occurred during the beta, I definitely would have reported it, but apparently this product commodity, was updated after the fact at the last moment. I should probably just bug report it so the asset gets fixed.

I'm at TRS19 build 111951 (standard version), and don't have <kuid:-25:1354> available in game or for download. The only new passenger product at the DLS is <kuid:-25:1355> Prod Passengers 2012 (legacy, 1950s attire).

<kuid:-25:1354> got installed with new DLC "Beloreck - South Ural Mountains". For those who can't download <kuid:-3:10060> for any reason, there is another solution: download <kuid:-3:110060> from TrainzItalia or any other site (more than 100 links on TKI), install it, open it in Explorer, copy the folder somewhere else, cancel editing, in config file change KUID to e.g. <kuid:-25:13540000>, in obsolete-table (line 25) replace KUID with <kuid:-25:1354>, save, then import. Done!
