Default Now at Project Gutenberg - The Fireless Locomotive

This is a great book of photographs of when GE rolled out its Diesel locomotive into the NCR yard to replace the Rubicon steam locomotive. Of course the Rubicon pushed the new diesel to the factory engine house. Then several NCR employees try the diesel out with a run across Dayton's South Main Street. It goes on to show the Dayton and South Park steam locos, and much more. Free to download in your preferred format at http://www.gutenberg.org/ebooks/64856

That's fascinating. Simple steam/water pressure without the fire to keep everything at the boiling point. I like how NCR made the locomotives look like a regular locomotive. I think these would make some nice Trainz models someday.
