HP Locos

I've got some sessions installed that use the HP locos with the start feature. They also have an Alerter. I've read the manual and the startup is simple enough and works fine, it's the Alerter that is an issue. When it goes off, none of the methods to answer it or reset it once it shuts down the engine seem to work. it goes off and the loco stops and can't be moved again. When I drive I usually use DCC so I thought that might be the issue but even using the cab controls, the result is the same. Were these broken somehow by 2019.? I never used them previously? It's not a big issue, I can just disable the Alerter, just curious.
