Trainz 2019 soft-locks whenever I try to save a route / session

Ever since the latest update, Trainz 2019 soft-locks whenever I try to save a route / session. It goes to the loading screen and won't do anything. It won't even let me quit. Clicking on the "X" does nothing. The only way to escape is to use control-alt-delete to force-quit. I've already tried an EDR.
I looked at the logs to see what might have caused it and as usual, it's a bunch of computer mumbo-jumbo I don't understand. Here's what it says in the logs:

And the preview asset window is stuck on the loading screen as well and I cant quit out of it.

You may need to give it time to save as the latest update is a different build version, 4.8 while the previous build was 4.7. It might need to convert some things as it is not possible to go back to 4.7 from 4.8.

I've been editing a route and sessions all afternoon, no problem with saving or loading...

Check the usual suspects!
Do you have enough disk space?
Are you trying to write to a protected folder
Is your virus checker trying to read the files? (set the trainz database folders to be excluded from the checker)

Once you interrupt the Trainz background process it may need to re-build the database (yet again)

Something is holding the files open preventing them from being saved. I've had this a few times and found waiting a few seconds before jumping from one task to another gives things a chance to settle down and not cause this to occur.

What else is running at the same time?

What antivirus are you using?

You should do a DBR if you killed the process while it was saving. That can do nasty things to the database.

Which could indicate that it's in the process of doing something else, maybe precaching? which needs to finish before using surveyor to edit anything or doing anything else, forced closing will only cause it to start doing whatever it was doing again from the beginning.

Check process explorer, specifically Disk activity to see if TRS19 or anything else, is actually still reading writing or writing to disk when it has appeared to lockup.
