This incident occurred on October 9th, 2020 and I first became aware of it when I saw it just a few minutes ago on Live Rescue. Fortunately, there were no fatalities.

My question always is why don't the drivers, or in this case the towing company, call the railroad and notify them that there's a semi stuck on a crossing? There is an 800 number plastered on the side of the control boxes near the crossing that not only gives the crossing number and location, but also other information in case of an emergency.

I'm not sure there was a towing crew there, looked like that surface scraper was going to try and drag him off, or was trying, but didn't have the time. But yea in an age where 99% of people have a cell phone, me thinks someone could have called.

I'm more impressed by the fact that the consist stopped in 13 cars and 2 loco lengths. I would (very roughly) guess 30 mph when it hit? Either a shot consist of empty's, or they freeking dropped an anchor off the back! :hehe:
