Default Cars moving too soon through crossing gate

I am playing around with the Seashore Coast line layout and noticed that at the crossings the cars start moving before the gates raise. Is there a way to delay this?

These impatient drivers haven't changed their behaviour since the early versions of Trainz...

I suspect there isn't an easy way to solve this!

There's nothing unusual here and it's very prototypical these days!

I wonder if ATLS or TRC crossings would make a difference?

Yes. ATLS can rig crossings to hold traffic a few extra seconds so the gates can raise before the carz resume motion.
