Trainz 2019 tutorials

First let me say after downloading and running TRAINZ 2019 I am totally impressed. Great graphics and physics. I love the new HUD at the bottom. Just make sure you have the horse power to run the sim!

Second, this forum is still difficult to use. Search is never helpful for me so finding topics is very difficult. Your experience may be different.

Here is my issue:

I ran the tutorials just to refamiliarize myself with the controls and get my RailDriver set up the way I want. Three of the tutorial had track issues; where there was supposed to be a gentle curve there was a "kink" in the track. In the first the train surprisingly negotiated the kink OK, in the second the train derailed and ended the session, the third occurred entering a tunnel. The train hit the wall and derailed again ending the session. Was there an update or a fix for these issues that I missed? Since I just downloaded the game from the official site a couple days ago, this obviously has not been fixed by the developers. For as long as this sim has been out this is really unacceptable. This should have been patched a long time ago.

Anyone else have this issue?

Thanks for your reply Tony.

It's interesting because the tutorials use a Kickstarter 2 map. Using the edit session I could find two kinks on the map but the game would not let me fix them. I'm sure map is protected and locked since it is part of the base game. I think its an easy fix like "straighten track" command was used in the wrong spot or something like that. I also noted that these kinks were not present on the Kickstarter 2 official payware route so obviously the tutorials are using a different map using the same name. If you take the kinks at a slow speed your train will negotiate the problem area, at higher speed you will derail. I still find it baffling that this obvious problem made it though beta testing and the game was release with the flaw. Equally baffling is that it was not quickly fixed by the developers. After all, the tutorials will likely be used by all new users and will not give a good impression of the game, not to mention the frustration. It would not take much effort to produce a patch. Come on developers. Get it right.

Hello,
As for finding things.. I have better luck using google site search. (google advanced search) If you use site search you need to use https://forums.auran.com/trainz/ as the site. I set a bookmark to
Code:
[URL="https://www.google.com/search?client=safari&rls=en&q=TERM++site:https://forums.auran.com/trainz/&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8"]TERM  site:https://forums.auran.com/trainz/[/URL]

I click the bookmark and then, in the URL entry I replace "TERM" with my actual search term.

Same is true for the WIKI. Here is my bookmark:
Code:
TERM site:online.ts2009.com/mediaWiki/

Again, replace TERM with your actual search term one the URL is loaded into the browser.

Grandpa1955, I said the same thing when I first discovered them quite some time ago. Unfortunately it was for naught. Apparently the N3V marketing program is more concerned with marketing than quality control. I rarely criticize N3V because I know they are trying to do a lot with what they have, but something this obvious to new users should be a very high priority. - Forester1 (also 1955!)

I was wondering about the status of these track issues. As with the OP, I was running through the tutorials to re-familiarize myself with the Trainz controls and ran into the same problems. I'm on Build 105100.
