How good is your vehicle recognition?

The cars pictured below all have generic titles such as Car5, Car11 etc.

They are nice models, all by Lotharhake, but I think they deserve proper names. I'm pretty hopeless at recognizing them. List as many as you know, identified by grid position eg. C3, A5. I need manufacturers and if possible the model names too.

This might even be fun!

That's an excellent start though, Duke. Thanks for including the likely years as well.

I'm reasonably sure C3 is a Mercedes Benz (the rectangular grille is more MB than Jaguar I think) but I'm much less sure of the model/year. Anyway, I'll wait to see what others come up with.

D2 looks to be a 1990s Buick station wagon with wood tone panels.
C3 is a 1995-2001 Mercedes E-class
A5 is a 1990 RV Fleetwood Bounder.

The old white car in the middle at the bottom looks to be a 1990s Buick Regal aka an old farts car because mostly old farts drive those.

D3 is a 2001-2009 Volvo S60
B2 appears to be a SAAB.
A3 is a Jeep Grand Cherokee
B3 looks to be a Land Rover, Possibly an LR3 or Discovery.
A1 is a 90's Chevrolet Silverado
B1 is a Chevrolet El Camino.

Peter, I hope your brother in law survived! :p

OK, the planet has rotated almost once since the opening post, so I will assign names according to the suggestions gathered so far. Some may not be absolutely correct, but it doesn’t really matter, anything is better than a name like “US car 7”.

Thanks everyone.

I think the trouble we’re having highlights how so many brands have lost their identity. There are some like Rolls Royce, Hummer, Mercedes-Benz, Audi, BMW that have an instantly recognisable “personality”, but so many others follow the same style trends and may as well be clones.

Up to about 1990s, I can tell a Cadillac from a Chevrolet because they had different body styling. Chrysler Motors and Ford Motors made most of the cars on one chassis/body after 1980s. Now, some of the new cars look fancy almost like late 1950s/early 1960s with tail fins and too much chrome. Even trucks became fancy "cars".
