Merging routes in build 107918

I have a route under construction... quite extensive originally I broke it into 7 sections for ease of building. I am now looking to start reassembly and my first attempts are failing miserably.
Every time I attempt a merge I get a CTD ... I have tried many combinations of the various sections all with the same result....Is anyone experiencing these problems with this build.
I shall report this as a bug but some assistance from the forum might be useful..

Patch to 108251 (Trainz Plus Beta stream) then retry.
