All across the country, the 60s, 70s, and 80s were filled with deteriorating right of way. Railroads opted to differ maintenance to hopefully save some cash in such an awkward economic period, leading to tracks that were more grass than they were ballast and rails that could hardly hold themselves up. Although most trackage on the railroad was regarded as slightly above the average at the time, some areas saw great neglect, such as this small shop and yard in rural Indiana.
