Good morning all, thank you for your messages and kind words.
The main purpose of my starting this thread is in bold writing in Post#1
Today I will tell you briefly what happened in my Covid journey.
Day one, chest pain, fever, shaking, coughing, trying to vomit, dry throat, runny nose, halucinations, it just overwhelmed me, I thought i was a going to die. Then over the next 24 hours that all changed to fevers but no pain, My sense of taste went.
It never got to the pneumonia stage so I guessed that I was over the worse and very, very lucky.
I could not sit up I had no strength, 24 hours later I could sit up, but could not stand up.
What I was left with are breathlessness, intermittent dry cough and poor leg mobility.
I have a Cross-Trainer that I use to keep fit on, but after a couple of strides breathing is difficult, need to breath to exercise, need to exercise to keep my legs from getting muscle wastage.
My voice has no power and no oomph!
After day 10 my taste buds re-activated along with the cough, apparently this is because you are trying to expell the dead lung cells.
I spent most of yesterday on my bed, no energy at all.
This morning I have started my PC up to see if I can concentrate enough to do Trainzing for a short period.
Keep vigilant, the Bug is still around, you can't see it, touch it or smell it.
It is a killer and despite restrictions getting lifted, we are still in peril.
It will be safer when the vaccine is sanctioned, but until then, be careful!
I suppose it will all end eventually and some sort of normality will resume, but 'normal' has never been one of my attributes :hehe:
Stay safe
This will be my last post...
not because I am a terminal case but because I am so much better . I even fired up trainz!
I'm still extremely cautious about socialising of any kind even tho we are supposed to not have any transmission in the community here in SA, but given human nature , its almost bound to be out there given those silly people who are stowing themselves away and trying to come into the state illegally in the back of trucks etc from Victoria .I agree totally with MP242 (but not yet sure about living in a bunker).
I am alarmed at the number of people who do get tested and then, while waiting for the results, go shopping, go to the gym, a bar or even back to work. Then when the result comes back as positive, the heath-care contact tracers have a nightmarish web of potential new cases to track down. Even worse are those businesses who are (allegedly) encouraging workers to come in to work even while feeling ill and telling them not to get tested.
My partner and I have only been going out for essential shopping once or twice a week - no visits to bars or parks, our Pilates and exercise classes are by zoom (and we sanitise the mouse, keyboard and screen afterwards:hehe. Just today we had to go out for an appointment in a medical center at a large regional shopping centre (mall). We wore masks for the first time but were in the minority. Later we discovered that we were wearing them backwards, but it was our first time.
