The Revamped Darjeeling Himalayan Railway (for T:ANE-SP4)

In case you thought I'd run away from the project, I thought would let you know that I am still working on the route.

More new ground textures, a waterfall asset with spray effects, more new trees (reskins of Auran Speedtrees) plus more new baseboards have been added.

I was mooching around the internet looking for any new images of the route when I noticed that things were looking cleaner than they had in the past, Darjeeling Station has had a tidy up and a repaint and it looks like some the locos have had a clean-up too.

I didn't know that the railway had been closed due to Covid, but is now getting back to business.

Another article that I read told of the DHR being handed over to a private enterprise, World Heritage are not happy.

Here's an article with some fantastic images of the DHR

We used sites just like the last one to recreate certain areas of the DHR. I was responsible for working the Paglajohra section of the line. I tried to make it look just as dangerous as it really was. Lots of hanging and jutting rocks and such.

Thanks for your comments guys!

That last link has given me a few more ideas to work on, I'll see what I can add to the route.

After I made my previous post I've expanded Mahanadi village a bit more and finished a small tea garden estate that I'd started, I'll get some screenshots up after I've completed the job.

cheers,

Graham

Thanks for the links Malc,

That site had evaded me, probably because I have previously only searched for images and videos only, looks like a ton of info in there.
Bookmarked on my PC and on my tablet for reading when I am resting.

Cheers,

Graham

A visual update today.

I've been doing building reskins for my own routes so I thought I would turn to the DHR...

Tindaharia Workhops building has been reskinned, the other buildings will be next.

I have reworked the trackwork, I need to bury it in the ground once I am happy with the protrack points, one is proving reluctant to turn its red circle yellow!

The plateau area around the workshops has been expanded and the road and track on the loop have been re-aligned.
I am really pleased at the way the road embankments have blended in with the hillside.
More buildings to be added and trees to be replanted where I removed them when I did the alignments.

I feel for you, Graham. I sweated bullets over some of those red-to-yellow transitions. Those two-foot gauge turnouts are hard to work with--especially on uneven ground.

Grand pictures.
