Brakes not releasing

mag315, are you talking about some of the tutorials, like the Realistic Controls tutorial? It is a known issue, but you can hit and hold the "D" key to drain the brake pressure while starting forward with the throttle. Once you are moving things work as they should.

The "D" key drains the brake cylinder pressure down but the brake line flow pressure still remains constant and the train won't move. The strange thing is, the problem car is always a coal hopper or covered hopper. I can set the cut of cars between the engine and the hopper car over in another track and couple the engine directly to the car and they release fine.

mag315 - Did you also use the Train Brake release key "Q"?
Presume you did - so can you provide the KUID and name of the offending coal and/or covered hoppers?
Cheers! PC
