We have released an update from build 106618 to the Trainz Plus Beta 107918. This build can be accessed by selecting the Trainz Plus Beta patch stream in the Launcher > Trainz Settings > Install tab.

This build does not yet have Multiplayer Surveyor enabled, as we want to confirm there are no backward steps from your current live version.

Please submit any bug reports here and make any comments about the release in this forum thread.

File Format Update:
This build includes an update to the file format which means new saves will be saved at trainzbuild 4.7. This content saved in this beta build cannot be used in any of the existing TRS19 builds.

The update installed very quickly and successfully and the database repair is running.

Duly noted on the asset version.
 
Trainz Build update means Plus Members will be out of sync with non plus users, that IMO is a backwards step, opening a possible can of worms there! Meaning if I want my current WIP to be used by all TRS19 Users and not restricted to our "Elite" group I can't upgrade beyond 106618 on my working install.

Not a fan of multiplayer anything, so will not be using it for my route creating. I take it we will be able to avoid using it when it's active?

Install, on test install, very quick, rebuilding the database is taking a very long time compared to previous patches?

Hmm appears to have got stuck, not moved for over half an hour.

As a 'Beta' I don't have a problem with different build numbers and the incompatibilities but I have to agree, if the final versions are different build numbers or Plus has advantages that make creating routes etc incompatible with other TRS19 versions that this is not the way to go forward.

I updates one version on my computer with no problems at all.
 
I agree with clam1952 - prefer not to have the multiplayer option down the line.

Anyway, download and install went well - long DB rebuild (assume it is doing a FDR).

Also what is new or changed since last update?

I'll wait until I know that I can can disable / uninstall anything to do with multiplayer before updating .
I have enough trouble with my own route without anyone else stuffing it up
 
Rebuilding Database second time as it locked up and had to reboot the PC as unable to restart the Beta Launcher, also on second launch Firewall wanted permission, odd as it already has permission and that doesn't normally occur after a patch. took well over an hour.

79 items now listed as faulty and can't be cleared from the list

Many items are in the Faulty list but showing as modified and are working and not faulty, just have warnings

All worked perfectly before the "upgrade". :eek:

Will delete and re-install just in case the update corrupted them.


Nope that didn't work, still faulty.

Note as an aside, the uniform colour warnings are for PBR textures that are required to be a uniform colour according to the creators, that needs sorting out.
 
The bug reporting page is out of date wrt to version numbers. I can't even report bugs for 106618.
 
Update was fast, DB repair too ......merging layers now takes about 3-4 minutes instead of 3-4 seconds in previous build ( same layout)

Once patched (the installer still creates a TANE entry in the Registry instead of TRS19), the game automatically ran a EDBR that lasted for 40mins. Then I clicked the "Faulty" filter in CM...

After a second EDBR, all remain faulty, and 15+ new ones joined the party! Icing on the cake: 60+ other assets are now "Installed, Payware (not active)". Overall, 180 faulty assets.

Fortunately, I have a full backup of Build 106618!

I changed the stream from "Trainz Plus Beta" to "Trainz Plus" but I'm still prompted to install the beta patch...
 
I made a terrible mistake in patching my game and the end result is a mess such as my some of the steam engines being faulty, any help on trying to get back to the build 106618, thanks!
 
I let the DBR run all night and it got stuck so I deleted my content and I'm copying over a fresh copy from my active install and will try again, or should I bother after reading what's going on so far.

Regarding the multiplayer surveyor. This is optional for those that want to run it from what I have heard. This is great for those that will do collaborative route building and it's still on its way to being usable, although, last nights testing was quite good actually showing the product is getting there. It's quite amazing what a bunch of people can do. There's a large route called Route 1 that's been going since the testing started even with the limited assets we have to work with. It suffered a crash during the testing, which is expected, but it's being rebuilt. As I said this will be for those that want to do that and we all don't have to unless we want to.

I don't like the new build-number either, and I wonder if that's due to this being this test build and has nothing to do with production. Let's hope so in that regard.

That's not good. Do you have a backup of your content?

That's why I have a test install on a separate hard drive that I can test and wreck. It takes a few hours to copy stuff over, but once done, I can start again without problems should something get broken, and also there's no worry about destroying my active program and content.
 
I'm not sure, I should have known better than to patch the game since the patch was a beta and there were going to be bugs, but, unfortunately for me, there's no going back so until the next patch, I'm going to have no choice but to rough it out.

Now you haven't saved anything in your new version, right?

Reinstall TRS2019-plus from the installer. Reconnect to your database, and you should be all set.

If you want, you can duplicate your data folder and use the copy for the test version. Just remember to point your test version to your test-data, and your working version to your real data so you don't end up where you are now.

Installed with no problems, the DB repair took about 4hrs, when completed the game to forever to load CM, so I performed the standard DB repair which fixed the long wait times. I have been working on a route for about 3 years and starting with TRS19+, and just with this route, whenever a DB repair is done and if I load this route, 540 GB, a CTDT happens, when I open CM after a game restart I would expect that particular route would be open, however it is not. I said all of that to say that particular problem is sill present in 107918.

After the DBR, the second, there were about 20 faulty assets. These have been installed from the DLS a while back. I thought maybe a false positive, no, all had genuine errors, mostly uniform texture issues and new a faulty asset I have never seen, texture failed to load. After loading the texture in Paintshop Pro and checking the file properties I found what the problem was, the texture color was 16 bit versus 8 bit. Decreasing the colors to 8 bit fixed this error.

Also CM is flagging sound founds who do not have the wave file name in quotes, occurred several times.

Seems CM 107918 has raised the bar on how assets are structured.

Oh, by the way after repairing faulty assets and restarting my working route, everything is normal and maybe a little faster, maybe.

A quick answer on the feedback so far.

1. You will be able to choose whether to edit an MPS route or a "standard" route. I think you will be surprised at the fun hanging out with others (but no worries, you won't be forced to).
2. Errors - at a glance they look legitimate. We will investigate further.
3. TRS19 SP2, which we're also preparing, will bring everyone into line with trainzbuild 4.7.
4. Db repairs and post-patch problems - I would suggest keeping a backup of your local data folder at all times.
 
I certainly don't like multiplayer and if there are a new crop of errors in with the new update I'm not interested. Not keen on the version update happening either. Just as I was starting to like Plus+ and this happens.

This is for testing only I think. The multiplayer is for multi-user surveyor for those that want to use it. If you don't want it, you don't have to use it.

I'm just finishing up my lengthy database repair after copying over my active database and setting up a test one. My testing data was trash.
