short haul routes

Hi all,
Looking for a recommendation for a short haul route. I'm after something like the earlier versions of PO&N on MSTS. So far I've found the trainz version too large/long between towns. Kickstarter County would be the closest to what I'm after, but I would like something with more lines to chose from in the layout. Is there something out there matching what I could possibly be after?

Not knowing a good example from the top of my head, but you could consider merging a bunch of M120 modules to fit your preferred size. Just search for "M120".

Look for routes by Philskene. They are exactly what you are looking for. He had a version of P O & N in earlier versions that will run in 2019 with a little work.

I see you have TRS19, so I'm assuming you want routes or layouts that take advantage of all the new TRS19 features? TRS19 track, PBR 3D textures, TurfFX grass.

that's pretty much what I'm after. I like routes where it's only a short trip between yards, but at the same time can set the road for a long cruise. That's why I liked the earlier versions of PO&N in MSTS, I could set up an activity where there were wagons everywhere and I could shunt as I liked, or I could hook up a passenger train and take a 1/2 - 1 hour trip around the route and end up where I started.

If anyone knows of other routes like Krashnburne, please let me know.


PS How do you make a layout look like a model layout (backdrops etc)? I have yet to work that out.

Aside from any of the excellent routes by Philskene as already mentioned, here are a few others that might fit the bill that you describe. Other than Scratchy's excellent Datsun Junction, they are all model railroad style.

Hopefully the linked discussion threads will help you track down any of the non-dls content that you may need.
