I agree this is gorgeous countryside. The dual gauge museum at the Bruchhausen-Vilsen has some neat and nicely restored equipment. The lack of fencing is common where I live, but the neatness is not. This is almost idyllic and would make a nice model railroad.
 
In Germany one observes the rules! If you don't, Oma pops up, shakes her umbrella under your nose and explains the error of your ways.

We could use some of that over here.

I am absolutely appalled when I drive down the road and see the amount of trash that lies in the right of way. As for that umbrella, we need some good stout "whacking over head" with it and about 80 hours of community service of picking up said trash for the offender. The lack of any pride in people these days is apparent everywhere.
