Japan has a facinating bustling railway infrastructure and they are proud of it too!

Info here..https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rail_transport_in_Japan

You might be amazed to find that most passenger and goods trains run on 3' 6" gauge track!

There are hundreds of videos to watch but there are also live streams to see.
I have a lot of them bookmarked and I watch them whilst Trainzing.

I want to share them with you too.
The text is in Japanese but if you watch them on Google Chrome/YouTube you just right click on any white space below the video and get the page translated to your language.

The first link for you shows Shin-Osaka Station with JR freight line at the bottom of the screen.
Don't forget the time difference, as I write this it is 03:00 in Tokyo, so no passenger traffic till later.

Today we have Tokyo!

This is one of my favourites.
Railways, elevated guided rail system, double deck freeways..

It's pretty busy right now!

Today, here is the stream from Saitama which gets very busy at morning and evening peak times.

There are passenger train lines and goods lines where driver changes occur. You will see articulated electric locos and locos with 3 bogies, fore, aft and centre.

This one is another Tokyo one, it gets hectic at morning and evening peak times.

It is a clever camera, it identifies the type of train that goes past, including Shinkansen.

This is really, really neat. I spent over an hour watching the train traffic pass by completely mesmerized by the number of trains passing by on all those tracks.
