Seeking early 1900s Austrian and German and Italian freight cars if possible

I and a partner are working on an Orient Express Route project from the early 1900s and we need box cars, wagons, and other freight cars the early types with nice textures for TANE if possible. Any suggesttions very welcome. They need to be as accurate as possible so no fantasy ones. We have the OE and good locomotives to pull them and details timetables and route info from a associate in Italy and a collection of good Austrian Alpine and Norther Italian town structures, barns, houses, resort hotels, Castles and such. Some of the standard local passenger coaches for local traffic would be nice too. I know the history and have a massive collection of all of this but in other sim formats for it has been a subject of interest for me for many decades. thanks

The history of the Orient Express is somewhat complicated. At one time, there were three trains with this name, i.e.:

  • The Orient Express, running from Paris to Bucharest via Germany/Austria/Hungary (1883-1962)
  • The Arlberg Orient Express, running from Paris to Bucharest/Athens via Switzerland/Austria/Hungary (the Athens section travelled south through Yugoslavia) (1924-1962)
  • The Simplon Orient Express, running from Paris to Istanbul via Switzerland/Italy/Yugoslavia/Bulgaria (1919-1977). From 1962, this became a Paris-Istanbul/Athens train.
The first two trains were discontinued in 1962, the third lasted until 1977 (I saw it several times in the 1970s, but it was nothing like the luxury train of the 1930s; it was interesting as it included a number of rarely seen passenger cars from Eastern Europe railways, but besides that it was an ordinary international train)

the text summary is from our friend and associate in Italy.

we are considering various route candidates for possible backdating and or conversion of course in concert with the creators as things develop. We plan far ahead and work on various projects as time and energy allows.

thanks for any suggestions. I will dig too.

After days of hunting I have found good models of all sorts including rolling stock and trains esp in the European community. The biggest challenge is going to be to find and or convert or create a good route with good TA?NE textures and good trees and quality 3D vegetation and landscape textures. Some routes are out there, Roy's Canadian routes may be the best possiblity once I have a chance to chat wit him about it....we seek to create private routes not public releases so hopefuly something can be worked out but the Orient Express lacks a really good route in any train sim so far. The original MSTS one was very sad even when made in the early 2000's. Nothing since has been worthy of some of the fine OE models made by various master Modelers.

thanks for the threads of the past here they helped a lot.
