Again: Baseboard Generator?

Do you really need all of the 7280 basebords (70x104)?
No, It's basically 5-7 tile wide swoth from southwest to northeast. Going up, 104 and East 70.

But this whole thread is now pointless because the Ground Fill tool won't reach that far. So grayscaling is out

Here is a easy to use website I use to choose the DEM files needed for a route depending on the desired geographic area: [FONT=Verdana,Arial,Tahoma,Calibri,Geneva,sans-serif]http://dwtkns.com/srtm30m/
I have had no problem loading these directly into Transdem.

That site requires a username/password and you can not create a username/password, in order to log in, and thus you can not download

I have a password with EROS and geoplatform.gov, but it doesn't work for this.

Now I remember (been about 10 months ago)

You go to this site: https://urs.earthdata.nasa.gov/home
Set up a user account. Once that works, you no longer need that site (you could use it, but the other site is easier).
Now go to http://dwtkns.com/srtm30m/ which I gave you in a previous post. Select an area to download. A log-in window will pop up. Use the userid/pw you set up at NASA. Notice that the pop-up tells you how to set up a userid as I discussed.

My earthdata password does work. I also checked the new user page at earthdata but didn't try to create a new one. Isn't it working?

[edit] I see you got it sorted out.

I'm not sure what all the fuss is about this is only 30m (1 arcsec) DEM data. Old stuff really. I went here last year to dl some tiles for another project where the terrain was basically background for an "Age of Sail" game. There are numerous sources for 10 meter and better resolution just check the Transdem docs. Roland does a good job helping us out in that respect.
