Durango to Silverton Colorado 1895

I probably should have emphasized once again that I did go to lengths to resurrect narrow gauge locos and rolling stock. That is the way it is for reaching for Colorado ng routes and sessions.

However, with long lists of unknowns, the target seems a lot fuzzier. I have ridden the Durango and Silverton and the Cumbres and Toltec many times; and I can honestly say that I do not remember what the bushes and ground cover looked like. But efforts such as yours for a route, which is considerable, is more in the realm of art, and must be to your liking.

Randall,

I was very surprised and thought it extremely generous of you when you issued a second version of your original route using no payware content. I know how much work that had to be for you. The route is your creation and it should be to your liking and there is no reason for you to make alternate versions to please others. Many find the need to search for content annoying. But the amount of available content for Trainz out on the web is mind boggling and much of it is very good, so I have come to accept that time needs to be spent chasing a few things down. As a fan of Colorado narrow gauge I was thrilled to see your first version posted and didn't hesitate buying the necessary payware. Till today I think the payware version looks better. After seeing those screen shots, I, for one, will be very disappointed if you decide not to put it up on the DLS, just as it is.

Many Thanks Again for that first version. It is wonderful!

Paul :)

"Many find the need to search for content annoying."

You are making assumptions as to the motives of others. Why not just leave it that they choose not to for some reason?

Yeah he is making assumptions, , but its definitely the reason that many people don't bother, in addition to being annoying, its also incredibly time consuming and even when using kuid index it can be an exercise in futility. .

The biggest issue with missing stuff is that its flagged as unknown and therefor harder to find . if Sek put up the route on the DLC with a list of the missing content then it would be much easier to restore the route as one can just make substitutions if the actual item that is missing cannot be found.
However , I can fully appreciate how much of a job it is to even get a route up onto the DLS without missing assets as I'm doing the deed on a route at the moment and also have another very large route that will eventually get uploaded ( i hope) , it is very time consuming and one has to be meticulous in checking that items are definitely usable from the DLS.
One of the most depressing issues I find is that when somebody does get a route uploaded , instead of being thanked, the author gets a lot of disgruntled complaints . I don't think people appreciate how much a of a task it is to build a decent route and provide it for free , glitch free.

@dangavel

Yes, I understand. I have uploaded many rules and driver commands over the years. I think I received one thank you once. What Randall is considering is what needs to be done. A list with asset names, kuids, and authors. That way, the asset search is much more likely to be successful. After all, the originator has such a list, and is therefore the one to provide it.

Silverton yards. This engineer is preparing to fetch the ore cars down south at the mines. After that he has plenty of work to do before the Durango freight train arrives.

Here is a list of assets in my Durango to Silverton 1895 route that are listed as Payware. Unfortunately Content Manager provides no easy way of getting that list posted here. I copied the list and pasted only to NOT get the author. Most of what is listed is Auran owned. Things like Ground Cover for the TurfX stuff. Stump and Rocks. American Boxwood and Azalea along with the Carolina Buckthorn bush.

The rest is a mixture of Roystrainz, gawpo50, trainz666, wearsprada, (JR Generic country house Tan),, txeroki, (lumber stack),, samplaire, (SAM House09),, zorronov,( Z Rock 13),, sanie.

I have DLC installed from Auran and JR. The rocky mountain stuff from Auran and the Coal Country Route from JR.

I would like to hear more opinions on this matter. I'm not going to make yet another versions with only content from the DLS. There are Texture assets listed, (auran & roystrainz), that I have no desire to replace. I have downloaded assets from Sir Gibby, a couple of Russian sites, and a handful of others I have stumbled across. I'm not sure where the gawpo50 items came from. The two Mountain Maple trees are used extensively. These sites all had items of interest for the Durango to Silverton routes.
Just saying I'm not an asset junkie, there is purpose to what I search for.

Randall

I can't find <kuid:122860:100003>, <kuid:387564:727>, <kuid:387564:745>, <kuid:122860:101824>.

<kuid:122860:100003> is a house from roystrainz. Payware. It is not likely this asset will be noticed as missing.

<kuid:387564:745> is a toolhouse from colorado71 He has a website with many assets free to download. Many pertain to the era and location of the Durango line.

<kuid:122860:101824> is a mess hall (small) seasonal from roystrainz. Payware. Again, not likely to notice it is missing.

Randall

I've got several versions of your D&S route installed in TRS19SP1. This is <kuid:429080:100009> DurangoToSilvertonTane_2 and I love it. I have to say that pencil42's 36ng track looks far better than what you show above. Seems like everyone is gripping about the lack of a good procedural 36ng track.

My-Trainz-Screenshot-Image.jpg

I'll be happy with whatever you produce, I'm sure. :D

BTW you are familiar with colorado71's buildings for this area aren't you? He has 42 buildings for Durango and 45 for Silverton. :D

Hi, can you say me where you have found those passenger cars and which engine you use?
