Missing KUIDs on the Darjeeling Himalayan Railway

TrainGuy58

Your Average Trainzer
Hello! I have several missing KUIDs on narrowgauge's Darjeeling Himalayan Railway route. I'm aware that most of the dependencies are on the Download Station, but these ones have all showed up as unknown and a Google search yields no results. From my knowledge, 44700 is narrowgauge and 33404 is dmdrake.
Any knowledge as to where these may be? And one more thing, if this is not in the correct area, feel free to move this; I'm not very used to the forums.

Welcome to the DHR, despite the apparently missing content.

I recently downloaded the entire list with no problems. There was a very recent notice from Auran advising that they are doing work on the web site so this could be the reason. Try again later, just in case. If this problem continues, PM me with your email address and I will send you the missing parts.

Hiballer and I are busy doing an update of the route, a major face list but nothing from that has been uploaded, so I can't think of another reason.

We are very fond and proud of 'our' DHR and always willing to help.

Ah, yes. Thanks for the help, Peter! I just checked the Download Station, and these KUIDs aren't showing up as missing anymore!:clap:By the way, the route is fantastic! I've always been fascinated by the DHR, but to see it accurately recreated in Trainz is just...wow.

Thanks for the boost, TrainGuy. Peter and I try to keep the route up to date. Twelve of us built it originally starting with TRS2004 and kept at it, updating as necessary, until now. Some of the content is two-dimensional, especially people, but more elaborate items would have slowed a computer from those days to a crawl.

As Bill said, thanks for the boost.

We were lucky, it all came together, we had an enthusiastic and talented team and we worked at a time when Trainz was a new and wonderful hobby. I refuse to class it as a 'game'

Enjoy

Peter

Even if the route is a bit outdated by today's standards, I still love it nonetheless. Older Trainz content has always had a special place in me, no matter how outdated it looks.
Great job on the route, guys.:)

Here's another big boost...
Darjeeling works great in Tane a New Era and I run it at least monthly over a weekend (like a favourite old movie).
Still to upload into TRS19 - maybe in the New Year.

If anyone has loaded the route on TRS19 - how does it look, feel etc?

Thanks, Butler. I've always thought a lot of the textures and buildings were overly bright. When I get ready to run or do some surveyor work, I bring up the NVIDIA control panel and run the gamma way down so I don't get blinded. I am currently seeing if I can bring the DHR into TMR2017 from my current TS2012 version. Everything seems to be on the DLS, so it doesn't have any missing content.

The route has been working fine, but I have some minor problems with the B class locos. For one, none of the engines have chuffing sounds when they're moving, despite the fact that I set it to the QR PB15 enginesound, and on some engines, they have a script error that won't go away when I click on it. The latter doesn't plague all of the engines, but here's an example, on locomotive #779. The script errors are as follows.
SteamCabinwithFireman : Thread Exception: ER_NullReference, line 417, file steamcabinfireman0906dhr.gs (1991)
SteamCabinwithFireman : Thread Exception: ER_NullReference, line 229, file steamcabinfireman0906dhr.gs (1)
Any idea how to fix these?

That problem has been reported a couple of times. I cannot remember the fix. perhaps Peter will come up with it. I think it involved deleting something from the config file (or adding something). Just don't remember.

Bill

Script Error probably due to using the wrong automatic fireman, Think you need to disable the in game automatic fireman in properties, scroll down for the second Automatic fireman and enable that or disable both of them and deal with the fire manually.

No script errors here.

Chuffs are there when starting off, then disappear, should be using the 30 PBR NA Enginesound <kuid2:44700:53205:1> not sure why it's not chuffing, actually it might be but very quietly just discovered that on a different loco with no chuffs they are there but very quiet unless you crank up the volume.

<kuid2:126323:53050:2> Steam Engine Sound - 2 cylinder usually works well with NG locos, leastwise it's the one I and edh6 use.

I followed the instructions, and the problems are gone now. The reason why I changed the enginesound was because at first, it showed up as a missing KUID, but since I couldn't find it anywhere, I replaced it myself. In the first post, I probably should've specified that I had missing dependencies on some of the rolling stock, but I didn't post it because I ended up fixing them on my own.

Oh, and one more thing. I just finished getting all the dependencies, and I've been having fun riding the route! Many thanks to the DHR team for their hard work and dedication!

We are glad you enjoyed it. It was a labour of love and the result of a considerable number of dedicated hours by a very talented team.

Originally it was released under my KUID, this did not mean it was my route but as I functioned as leader, it was the logical thing to do at the time and I have "'mother-henned it" so far. You will have read from Hiballer's posts that he has done a considerable amount of work to replace the boards we deleted to reduce the route size. The backgrounds are vastly improved.

There is still much we should do to the route and content, which we will tackle progressively.

I have asked Bill to take over the responsibility for the route, mainly because he has done so much on the route itself, and because in two weeks I will be 91. I don't intend to kick the bucket any time soon but a change is the right thing to do now, and I want your DHR to survive for many more years. So you will still see the route on the DLS but under a new KUID and Title, and the original, not updated, one under my KUID.

Cheers and Happy Christmas.

Peter

The switchbacks and their control.

To anyone,

You may have not noticed it as it is not obvious. On all the switchbacks the junctions are automatically switched when the train moves past the stone block on the side of the track. This is effective on both up and down passage.

... nostalgia ...

... most colourful street of trainz ... as a cinematic comicbook ... "ts12 orig" in ts19 (no missings in 105096 !! ) ... not the specs of this time, but what a masterpiece it is ...
thankz a lot DHR-team for 6 years of fun .. most respect

Thank you so much, Daveric. That small stretch was a great deal of fun to put together. In the original TS2004 version, it lagged a little going through it, but when riding in the cab or passenger car, it was a real treat. As Peter says, I'm working on an upgrade that will alter a few things (for the better I hope) yet retain the look and feel of the original route. For those who have TMR2017, I'll try and get a version for it as well.

Bill

Holy Cow!!
Yes, it looks "dated" in TRS19....BUT it appears to function perfectly!!
Wow, you guys have really done an epic route.

Keep up the Good......no Great work!!

Dave

BTW....Downloaded into TRS19 with NO problems and NO faults.....Hmmmm, a Miracle??

Thanks, Dave. The sessions are what you might enjoy running at first to get a feel for the entire route. In real life, it takes about 8 hours to go from the flatlands to Darjeeling station. If you use the sessions in order, each one runs about 2 hours, taking you from one major station to another in small chunks. Start it up, hop into the cab or a passenger seat, and look around as you go.

Bill

Just loaded the route into my TRS19 Plus install. Not a single missing asset! (as reference: 43194 assets in my install)
