I've done this for years. It's the best way to test signals when there's a lot of junctions and complex track work. If a routing turns green when I flip the junction levers, I know the signals and tracks are going to work properly. This has been proven true 99.99% of the time. There are times when for some reason even though the signals work properly in Surveyor, but they don't work as expected in Driver. These odd issues may mean moving a signal, or replacing the signal with a different one.
