Switches and Asset Placement

I have two quick questions (hopefully). I tried to look up the issue with the search but couldn't get a a good search criteria. So I may have been using the wrong terminology for the search. I am trying to modify the Eagle Creek layout. I clones it and want to "update" it to run steam. I am in the process of adding the services for it like coaling, water and ash. I ran into the following issues.

1. Is a switch problem. To get some more space I wanted to delete a length of track in the yard ladder. I deleted the track and got to where the switchers were. At one end, when I deleted the track the switch vanished as I would expect. At the other end the track re-aligned but the switch seems to stay. I have included two images.

2. I have been trying to insert an ash pot I got off DLS. (See images). But it seems to want to "snap" t something when I move it. I can't align it to the existing track. I was wondering if this is just a function of this item or is there a way to allow a more granular movement? The two images of the ash loader show the two positions it wants to move to.

For either of these two issues, it anyone just has a better search param to use That would be fine.

For 1, Go to tracks TAB, the track items sub tab, and use the delete icon to remove the additional switch. DONE!!
For 2, This ash pit is designed to create its own dig hole so it MUST snap to grid. That is how it is designed to work. the only options here is to choose another pit or re-align the tracks to where this one snaps to.
