Default Question for route builders about roads...

Kinda like the boxers or briefs question..

For US routes, which do you prefer, Yarn/Yarnish or AASHTO?

If you have another preference, drop it in here

Where I come from, we have no roads, and where there are roads, I turn OFF all traffic !
I want all my performance sliders set to "Full"

It depends on what major version of Trainz you are working with. As an example roads that worked well in TRS12 or T:ANE no longer work in TRS19 routes where you are using PBR ground textures that use parallax. If you attempt to use them you will often find that the PBR textures poke up through them. I finally solved this by developing my own road items that will work in TRS19 with those textures. Here are the items I would recommend to you that will work on build 3.5 or later routes and present no issues:

It depends. Some of the AASHTO components are really useful such as the highways and some of the roads while the YARN/YARN-ish ones work well too in others. I'll use the AASHTO bridges and highways while the YARN (or -ish) for the back roads. I've also taken the AASHTO textures and put them on some custom YARN-type roads where needed because I liked the concrete surface, for example, and the color of the roads and lines.

I use only roads/highways/streets that I myself have made. Mostly Yarn compatible.

Here are some of the road assets I was using on some routes I was building. They seemed to work fairly trouble free... They are by neuman706 Except for the T intersection by cwhitedog. They are very old builds(1.3 and 2.0), but seemed to be working in T:ANE SP3. The T-Intersection says built-in though, so I may have to look for a DLS replacement. Not everyone gets built-ins... And, looking at it now after quite a long time inactive, the T-Intersection doesn't quite match. The roads look very nice though and have just a nice mellow flow of occasional traffic.
