Trying to learn some "real" railroading.....
Here is a shot from Progressive Rail Jesse James route by MSGsapper. I have labeled what I think would be the Transfer track and a Main line siding. Note the main line is double tracked.
1.) Am I correct in believing that the rail marked "Transfer Track" is in fact just that and that the Class 1 would drop off and pick up from that track? Note that the "transfer track" also is the only lead into the industries so that junction cannot be blocked.
2.) If I am correct with #1 what would the siding on the main line be used for? (or perhaps the "siding" is the transfer track?)
Any help here and GENERAL explanation would be appreciated. Thanks.
