UK Track Circuit White diamond UQ home semaphore signals

Hi guys, I've been studying Richard Pulleyn's track diagrams and I have noticed that most inner home and starter advance signals have the white diamond TC fitted to them. I understand that these signals sent a message to the box that a train was present or not. I think this only applied to main up or down lines, also I believe they could mark the boundary of a box's inner territory of responsibility? I hope someone can clarify my suspicions or put me on a straight path. Also I think a stage bolt was a manual lever or levers to a siding or lie-bye? Hope someone can help me with this fact or fiction. Thanks in anticipation.

The white diamond indicates that the track the signal applies to is protected by track circuits. I think it meant that rule 55 didn't apply to that signal.
