Hello all, sorry if this is in the wrong place, didn't know where to put it :)

After my PC crashed a few weeks ago, I want to re-install TRS2006, but it won’t

I keep getting the following message

An error (5004 : 0xc) has occurred while running the setup

Please make sure you have finished any previous setup and closed other apps.

Can anyoine help/? I've turned off my anti virus.

Same thing when I run as admin

This may very well be a problem with the CD-ROM you're installing from. You can try copying the disk to your hard disk.

Create a folder on your desktop.

Open up the CD-ROM in Windows Explorer - Don't double-click on it or launch anything.

Once opened, up, copy the contents of the disk to that folder.

Create a second fold for the second disk if necessary.

Try installing from your hard drive.

Here are the Trainz Railroad Sim 2006 System Requirements (Minimum)

  • CPU: Pentium 4/Athlon XP or better.
  • CPU SPEED: 1.5 GHz.
  • RAM: 512 MB.
  • OS: Windows 98/2000/ME/XP.
  • VIDEO CARD: 64Mb video card (NVIDIA Geforce2+ / ATI Radeon 8500+)
  • TOTAL VIDEO RAM: 64 MB.
  • DIRECTX VERSION: 9.0.
  • CD-ROM: 8X CD/DVD-ROM.

I'd try reinstalling Windows 98 and see if that fixes it.

My PC specs are well above the minimum.
Don't know where to get Win98

Done all that, same thing.

Looks like I'll have to stay with 2010.

Done that, still the same thing.

Looks like I'll have to stick with 2010. :(
