class 20

musupporter - would it be possible if you could make your queries a bit clearer? It would help when it comes to giving an answer.

Based on my understanding of the query, try the [ or ] buttons.

Link to blog? As Shane has said, hit 1 to enter the cab view (assuming the loco has one) then [ or ] to change the fixed point with your mouse or arrow keys to rotate around that axis. You did, of course, actually check all the dependencies (cab) and any sub dependencies downloaded as any missing items could affect how it displays in Trainz.

Would also help if you could post the full name of the asset and preferably the KUID too. What version of Trainz are you trying to run it in.

Vague garbled messages don't really help when it comes to problem solving.

The BR Class 20 locomotive is a medium size diesel-electric workhorse more suited to goods traffic than passenger although employed in its day in both roles. The locomotive is basically an engine on wheels with a cab bolted on one end of the chassis. The Class 20 asset externally is a reasonable representation but falls a little short inside the cab. What I believe 'musupporter' is referring to is that whether you look forward or backwards from inside the cab it looks the same and you see the engine in both directions whereas in one direction you would in reality be looking through two large glass windows into free space. Unfortunately there are a few assets where the internal cab view falls a little short but I'm still grateful for those who have taken the time and effort to achieve and publish what they have. Part of the problem is creating an internal cab view takes about as much effort as creating the rest of the loco and it is a bit specialised so not all creators have the right experience to create them.

i like to thank you for what you did today,you did explain what trying to say. i didn't want to send vague garbled messages.thank you again.

Just had a look at the cab used for the class20, not a particularly good choice however there doesn't appear to be anything any better.

Only thing that comes anywhere near that sort of view is the interior used for the class 08 /11 / 02 in fact every flipping shunter...... but it has a extra window in the centre and is a bit short.....

be better than the thing that is used though IMO.

Or as the model does have cab built in which doesn't look bad, maybe an invisible interior could be used by adding outside-visible-from-cabin 1 to the config which would enable the user to be in the cab

albeit obviously the cab controls wouldn't be usable. I can do that for Steam locos, afraid others I know little about.

Seems to work just had a quick and dirty mess around, one of my invisible interiors less the steam scripts and stuff, camera positions are way off , on the roof actually! but enabling the free roam internal Camera

I can get this, not what I'd call perfect however......

I started one ages ago, and like so much stuff I start, I never got it finished. I have the Auran source files so when I have time maybe I could butcher the Class 37 interior and reuse the control desk from that.

A pretty solid start. I could have sworn I had seen a Class 20 interior. It may have been a Class 17. I'm still catching up with all the Downloads i've missed.

Re what John said about cab interiors: often it’s a bit harder to create cabs for locos than the exterior, especially when it’s a class that’s not as common. The 20 37 etc (any EE locos essentially) shouldn’t have this problem as there are plenty of shot libraries on Flickr that show details and the location of equipment.
