How do you calibrate an monitor? or even which to buy.

Getting consistency in the screenshots across different systems seems to be a problem area for TS19. Possible problem areas identified are gamma, and white balance whatever they are.

Thoughts please

Thanks John

John,

PM me your email address. I have an IT8 chart that's used for calibrating scanners and monitors.

You load up the image and adjust the hue, saturation, and white balance, so that there is no blurring between the colors and so that the colors are what they are supposed to be such as magenta and cyan being just that and not too red or blue.

Both Microsoft & Macintosh have screen calibration wizards built in, essentially is displays a series of images/graphics and you make adjustments until they look right.

If you want to go professional, there are special calibration devices you can buy for your monitor that clamp onto the screen and will calibrate it that way. Most people don't go that route, really the only folks that do are professional printers.
