DRG Class 05 Steam

Trainz Entry Level
Eh.

A fine locomotive model but lacking any suitable DRG passenger cars. While I have a fair collection of DRG passenger cars mostly from the DLS none are correct for this locomotive I think.

The sessions that come with the locomotive are pretty good though.

Any suggestions for passenger cars?

This is the only photo I could find of the 05 with passenger cars

Poking around came up with this list of high speed passenger cars which might be right; Type AB4ü Bavarian 4-axle express train passenger car, 1st / 2nd class, Bavarian 4-axle express train passenger car, 3rd class, and, type Pw4u Bavarian 4-axle express train baggage car.

The consists in the sessions are made up of <kuid:330526:103> DB Bygeb 675 and <kuid:417039:1037> DB Dye (ex Grppe 30) which appear close to what I'd expect but are marked for DB and look kinda beat up, not what you want behind your flagship streamliners.

Here are some more passenger cars for fast trainz of that era.
<kuid2:121945:15030:4> DRG A4u-30
<kuid2:121945:15031:1> DRG Pw4i-31
<kuid2:121945:15032:5> DRG B4u-30
<kuid2:121945:15033:5> DRG WR4u-28 Mitropa
<kuid2:121945:15034:4> DRG WL4u-37 Mitropa
All are made by the user Vasquez, and are available at the DLS (asset name might be different)

I did search the DLS for DRG but these do not have that in their names so thanks very much for finding them. Especially the Mitropa dining car! :D

Bigtrain1 consist in the background, Vasquez consist in the foreground. They are both nice fits I think.

Norm, you could get the Rheingold coaches from Vasquez if you want to run a 'Special' service.
They would normally have run behind a BR01 or BR18 in Gemany, but they certainly would make an impressive consist with an 05.

<kuid2:121945:15281:5> Rheingold sa4u
<kuid2:121945:15280:4> Rheingold sa4uk
<kuid2:121945:15283:4> Rheingold sb4u
<kuid2:121945:15282:4> Rheingold sb4uk
<kuid2:121945:15284:4> Rheingold SPw4u

The coaches are certainly from the right era and they do make an impressive consist.

Norm,
Wonderful pictures. I love them. Of course I'll have to get the Class 05 now! :D

What routes are you showing off with the 05? The two yard shots in the above pictures are especially amazing. The evening picture with the 05 and consist approaching the station is particularly well composed.

That is Celje's <kuid:151442:100366> DBtogether V2 route. I downloaded it from the DLS, replaced the tracks, tracked down as many assets as I could, and then did a "Delete Missing Assets". The route has several large stations but the one pictured is the largest with the most complex yard, it extends for at least several of kilometers.

Looking north from the roof of the station (note the six office towers in the distance on the right)

Looking south from near the north most end of the yards (note the same six office towers on the left)

As the name implies celje merged several German routes together, I do not know who did this eastern most section.

Surprisingly the route looks quite good considering how many older speedtrees are gone. Celje did update his DBTogether - France V1 to TANE standards and it is on my list to get into TRS19 at some point. It includes DB Together merged with some French routes, his EUtogether is huge. :D Both include this station and yard complex.

More screenies of the locomotive and the route here https://forums.auran.com/trainz/showthread.php?152485-Europe-before-1970&p=1751133#post1751133

Hii normhart, can i ask where you got the white and purple streamlined loco?
i think its a br 05 tank version of the br 05 tender loco,
Back when i had 2010 i had a similar one but in red/white but lost it in a hdd crash and am looking for it again,

The locomotive is the BR 61 001 <kuid2:72730:1061:4>
The cars are:
- HW eWg1 <kuid2:72730:11401:4>
- HW mWg <kuid2:72730:11402:4>
- HW eWg2 <kuid2:72730:11404:4>
all created by Gerd for TRS2004, and available at the DLS.

The train is the Henschel-Wegman train.

Peter

Yes, that is what I used, seems to work fine in TANE and TRS19 at least in DCC mode. If you find a red version do let me know. :D There was apparently a modified version BR 61 002 that had a tender and smoke deflectors that must have been very similar to the BR 05.

Peter, so far as I have been able to tell there isn't a DRG streamlined version of the BR 01 available. Is that correct?

Oh, and while I'm asking is there a DRG Class SVT 877 Fliegender Hamburger floating around?
