Grazlash's Route Creations, Collaborations and Renovations

G'day everyone,
I've been a bit time poor with Trainz of late, but still managed to get the Illawarra line into Bellambi. There's still some trees to add but it's coming together well.
@NickE, sorry about that, the one I have has been modified by H222.

Can't believe I've only just spotted this thread. Great work Graeme.

I am currently struggling to get a look I am happy with using PBR textures in place of the old (Original Trainz !) textures I have been using to-date. I can't seem to capture the dry summer grasses look. And getting PBR to work with non PBR seems fraught! In the 2nd screen shot after the map in post #33 you really nailed it, and you have given me some hope that it can be done.

After several months of inactivity, where one thing or another has kept me away from Trainz, I'm now back into building again. I haven't been completely quiet, but enough that I was only getting an hour or so of building every so often.
Anyway here's some shots of progress on the Illawarra line, most of the basic detailing has been done with only the fiddly bits to go - streetlights, power, people etc.

This set of shots is from the tunnel north of Clifton through to Wombarra

This is very fine work Graeme.

Roy has hit the nail on the head as usual - You've captured the Aussie bush so beautifully.

I am finding that getting the lighting right in TRS19 is quite a challenge but this last set of shots is spot on.

Could you give us some info on the settings that you are using? Those settings are obviously the result of a lot of experimentation.

Cheers.

Thanks Bolivar, Roy and Ringarooma.
Settings on those shots were: time - 11am, environment = default setting for 11am, Post Processing - manual: sun shafts on- default, bloom on- default, convolution: on - apply on luminence on, sharpen, add, threshold 0.05, intensity 0.15, HDR Tonemapping Heji-Dawson, HSV: Saturation multiplier 1.2 brightness multiplier 1.1. These are roughly the settings I use at any time when using manual post processing, but will probably need to be adjusted to suit the routes environment settings.

A few shots on the ARTC Main South route extension

All I can say is wow!
The textures you are using are so realistic.
I have been to a place like that.

Thanks Tom.

The next stretch to Tungamah is a bit longer and a bit more involved, but I'll get there.

The evolution of Coalcliff - progress shots
A lot of land sculpting needs doing in the Coalcliff area to get it looking like nature intended

Escarpments in place and a tidy up around the edges.

A much gentler slope coming off the escarpment

The pink line at the bottom of the shot is the cliff line.

Stanwell Park is just around the corner but Bellambi, Albion Park and Robertson need attention too. Decisions decisions.

Wonderful progression shots. It's so neat seeing what magic you perform to achieve such beautiful recreations. :Y:

Beautiful stuff Graeme. For me, you've won the 'Oscar' in the production of Trainz Landscapes.

Keep up the great work.

Cheers mate,
Roy

Gotta love those NZ houses, they fit in so well in an Aussie scene and many other places. Certainly love the look of this.

Thanks Roy and Alikiwi. As always, I attempt to recreate what I can see with the assets available and a liberal dose of artistic license.

More ARTC Oaklands extension - Tungamah a little closer to finished

Great looking shots , there are definitely some advantages with 2019, ground textures look great. You've captured the Aussie countryside extremely well.
