Payware disabled?!

Hello, I have the Steam version of TRS19 and the default ECML Edinburgh-Dundee isn't showing in the routes menu. In CM it shows as Payware (not active). I also have inactive payware dependencies for Canadian Rocky Mountains- Golden BC.

Same here. I purchased on Steam the UK Regional version of TRS2019 today, and seem to have routes Canadian Rocky, Cornwall (correctly), Kickstarter 2 and no sign of ECML Dundee. I've used up almost all of my two-hour Steam refund window simply trying to get the darned program to install and download its missing content - with no luck. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling from Steam, but it doesn't seem to remove any of the downloaded content from my F:\TANE_Content folder (I don't want it going to my %LocalAppdata% folders - not enough space on my SSD). I have tried the 'Download Purchased Content' more times than I can remember, and I've done a database repair. Haven't yet done an entire deletion and try again - not sure if I will have enough time to do that and still bale out and get a refund if it fails again.

I must confess - with all due respect to the developers - I have not enjoyed this process one iota. I was a customer of TRS2006, back in the day, but alas, became a far more regular customer to another major train simulator with a UK focus. I remained in contact, and even have an unused FCT waiting to be activated (presumably I purchased it way back, but didn't install TRS06 when I got my new PC)... and I was tempted by the recent Regional TRS19 blurb that came by email. I'm a loyal Steam user, so decided to use that simply for efficiency's sake, and the fact I know I can back out if things go wrong.

Really, it's a bit above the call of duty to expect customers to have to deal with the vagaries of, well, whatever's going on here! I'm not going to wave my hands, scream 'REEE' and expect miracles, and I'm prepared to cut a bit of slack for any 'new product deployment blues'... but it does seem that this should have been flagged up as an issue more overtly on Steam... perhaps with some solutions by now?

Alas, I think I'm going to have to get a refund - and my apologies if that impacts on the devs - and I **may** buy it back again once I know for sure this issue is solved... but forgive me if I'm not in the mood to just throw £31 out into the ether 'on a hope and a prayer'...

Here's hoping I can try again another time, and you get this sorted. I'll watch this thread hopefully...

UPDATE:

Alas, I've not time to download all of Cornwall and ECML (assuming it even comes down this time), within the 2 hour window, so I've issued my refund request from Steam. Pending...

I will pass this on, in case it helps though: After uninstalling and reinstalling all the 'Steam-based stuff' (I'm guessing that comprises everything not in the F:\TANE_Content (aka %LocalAppdata%) folder, the game coughs at Start Trainz with a warning about inability to find content, and runs a database repair (and is quite happy to spawn multiple attempts of this sequentially, because there's a separate 'Start Trainz' in each database dialog's menu, which is clearly a sign that there is no 'instance check' on that app window - you might want to fix that!). All (automatic) attempts at a db repair keep coming back with the same warning about not being able to download content with the code:

sc545

...and I can't even find a reference to that code in the DLC resource ID lists. Maybe that's the source of the problem? Your lists seem to indicate that sc490 is the code for ECML Dundee... so who knows what's going on here?

Anyway, that's me done. At least for now. Ping me when it's properly fixed. Heck, you might even like to re-buy me the copy next time as a thank you for spending 95 minutes debugging your wares instead of playing the product I thought I'd bought? :)

I wish I could say my return back to Planet Auran had been an enjoyable one, but alas, that would be a bit of a stretch! I remain hopeful, however...

Good luck, genuinely. It would be nice to have a viable alternative to 'you know who'... if only to keep them honest! ;)

While trying to install the TRS19 boxed version I have encountered both the sc484f.tzarc error and the Installed Payware (Not Active) issue. While the sc484f.tzarc error fix supplied by N3V support worked out (copy the file to a folder on my HDD and point the "install purchased items from disk" process there for installation) I have not yet had a reply about the Installed Payware (Not Active) issue. Nothing I have tried has fixed this and that includes deleting my user details on TRS19, closing the program and restarting. I have even tried deleting my user details, closing TRS19 and then doing a hard reboot on my PCs. Database rebuild did not fix it either. I have a valid serial number and TRS19 shows in my product line. Neither Edinburgh - Dundee nor Sebino Lake show up as installed routes, while Canadian Rocky Mountains is flagged as having missing dependencies (which are all marked as Installed, Payware (Not Active).

I checked your account and it looks like you registered TRS19 in MyTrainz, but didn't redeem the additional content for your version (the registration flyer explains the process). I've done that manually for you, so you're all set up correctly now.

Thanks for that Tony, I had missed the redeem code reference as a solution since I hadn't bought a "TRS19 Regional Version" or T:ANE platinum edition. I now see that with the UK Content being supplied on two DVD disks additional to the TRS19 DVDs that, essentially, the "full" TRS19 is a set of multiple "regional versions". Edinburgh - Dundee and Sebino Lake are now visible as installed routes while the Canadian Rocky Mountains route is also now free of missing dependency flags.

Hi Frank - I'm not able to log in as admin at the moment. Just log in to MyTrainz, click on Redeem Code and enter the same registration code you entered under "Serial number"

If anyone has assets listed as "Installed Payware (not active)" in Content Manager, please list the kuids in your post as it will help us determine why this might be.

cheers,
Paul

I have logged out and logged back in as jcitron suggested back on page 3 and that didn't work. These were fine just yesterday. Hello? I know you're not sleeping down there 'cause it's after 9AM on 9/12 down there in Brisbane. It's after 7PM on 9/11 up here also. Brisbane is the closest place that my iPhone has the time for to N3V HQ.

Run a database repair. The storm might have glitched your computer while you were logged into Trainz. This is why I recommend getting a UPS.

Anyway fail that, close everything down. Trainz and the Launcher.

Go into your content directory, and the packages folder. Delete all the SC folders. If you used the default location, go to C:\Users\your login\App Data\Local\N3V Games\Trs19\build xxxxx\packages. (xxxxx = some sequence).

Start up and run a database repair.

While at the Launcher after the DBR finishes go into File on the menu bar and click on Download purchased items. (Not exactly sure of the wording because I'm not at my Trainzing computer.)

Start up Trainz.

You'll be prompted to redownload your packages again.

Note: After this is completed, there maybe a period of sluggishness as the content is recached again (validated).

Database repair didn't fix it. Now having to go thru the packages folder and try to see which ones I need to delete and which ones to keep. It seems to have been isolated to items I installed on September 4th, though not everything I installed on that day is listed as "Installed, Payware (not active)". Unfortunately it's getting late, so I'll have to stop for the night and resume tomorrow.

Hi jordon412
I have refreshed your account's permissions so as to ensure that you are receiving full access. Please now try forcing a refresh in Trainz by following these steps:

1) Click on 'Trainz Settings' on the launcher screen
2) Go to the 'internet' tab, and remove your username and password.
3) Close down Trainz entirely
4) Re-open Trainz and click on Trainz Settings on the launcher screen again
5) Go to the 'internet' tab and re-enter your username and password, then press 'enter' on your keyboard.
6) Once Trainz logs in, close the Trainz Settings window.
7) Click on 'File' on the launcher screen, then click on 'Download Purchased Items', and then click on 'ok' on the message that appears.
8) Now click on 'Start Trainz' on the launcher screen

Once Trainz has loaded, please see if those assets are still showing as 'installed, payware (not active)'.

Hey Zec and Team,

Two questions on current Payware-not-active situation:

How about the Coal Country payware not active situation? It's been months and I'm still seeing the DLS offering :1 updates to my :0 JR-downloaded versions of the route. The DLS versions can, of course, never be installed because they are in payware not active status.

I'm *also* seeing this with the MILW - Transcontinental Eastbound Freight Train (snowy winter) asset <kuid2:82412:104612:11>. That one is *weird* since this is a built-in rout for many versions of Trainz.

I'm seeing both of these on multiple installs and clean installs too, so it isn't a corruption / database repair situation.

Thanks,
Diego

Hi Diego
This indicates that there is an updated version of the asset that is currently either being prepared for internal testing, or is in internal testing.

The DLC system, during the packaging process, will 'register' the asset to the DLS. However it appearing in the DLS listing does not indicate that it is currently available; when the update becomes available it will be downloaded via the in-game 'asset download' tool as an update for the entire DLC pack.

Hi Jordan412
You say you have deleted these packages from the 'packages' folder, but they still show as 'installed' in-game.

Please try running an extended database repair by clicking on 'developer' at the top of the launcher window, then hold the CTRL key and left click on 'rebuild database'. This should then ensure that the DLC packs are removed from the asset database, so that you can download them again.

If they still show as 'installed', then this indicates that you have deleted the DLC packs from the wrong LocalData folder. You can find the location of your LocalData folder in the 'install' tab of the Trainz Settings.

Please keep in mind that our team are not active on the forums 24/7, and as such we will reply to posts when we are able to. This may mean it may be a couple of days before we reply, depending on when we are able to participate on the forums. We may log in from time to time to look for information on a task we are currently working on, however may not be able to reply at that time.

We do recommend using the helpdesk directly, as this is monitored, and replied to, every day.
