Suggestions for Rolling Stock - TRS19 Progressive Rail Jessie James Route

I plan on creating some sessions for msgsapper's Progressive Rail Jesse James Route (TRS19)

I have the two Progressive Rail SW1500's... what other power and rolling stock would be appropriate? I've tried to research a bit but information is rather sparse (or I don't know where to look). Being new, I also don't know everything available (Freeware, interactive, etc)

Thanks in advance to any and all replies.

You set the theme/Era. Photo is an example of one of the several versions I have made in the past few years with this asset. It is flexible in term of structures, purpose, and rail assets. Choose a theme/era and have at it. Just touch nothing but add trains. Change scenes, add schedules, etc. It is a palette paint as you wish.

First of all.. thank you for replying...

I should have mentioned that I'm primarily worried about appropriate road names & railcar selection. I confess, with the high quality of routes and sessions available, I'm afraid of doing something "silly" that doesn't make sense. On the other hand, I am amazed that I have obtained Payware where American routes contained European railcars and traffic driving on the wrong side of the road. Doing something like that is not what I want to present...

Confession: I'm a bit intimidated! I guess the answer is to just create for myself because there will always be criticism out there no matter how hard you try...

Again, thanks for the reply. I appreciate it very much.

;) Most but not all Routes will have this in there config.txt file......MSGSappers file for this Route has this to help you out....

category-era "1980s;1990s;2000s;2010s"
category-region "US"

Look at the individual sites and look for older Boxcars, Gondolas Flat Cars Hoppers ...Spline cars for Lumber Delivery Etc and other items, no intermodal stuff........

Hope this helps you out........

Welcome aboard sir,,,,,,,,Your going to have lots of fun, the adventure has just beginning for you......

I bid you a good day, this first day of April.......

Thank you very much! May I ask? Why no "intermodal," since the route contains an intermodal industry (Wassau Packaging) with plenty of containers sitting around?

Don't be intimidated! If you want to upload a session, add to the description, that it is a session slightly leaned against this and that. In this case there is no room for nitpickers...

<kuid2:128368:7021:2> 60ft Reefer PGR 2738 :D on the DLS

I strongly suggest you confine your rolling stock to stuff available on the DLS. That will reduce the bitching considerably. :D

RE: Intermodal- Yes, I was surprised to see that facility so we'll stay with "current day" for setting.

RE: DLS and reefer: Thanks for the reefer kuid... and yes, I had planned for all DLS stuff.

btw... The Progressive Rail site videos are seconds in length and of interior warehouses and such mostly, not much help for railcars and such... Did find a few general PR Youtube Videos.

And just to be clear...
I don't mind complaints, suggestions, and such. In fact, I welcome those for learning purposes. What I don't care for is someone being critical (and not helpful) because someone simply hasn't learned something yet, or has a different goal in what they are doing.

Your best bet would be either Canadian Pacific (CP) or Union Pacific (UP) rolling stock.

According to their website they have a Class 1 connection with Canadian Pacific Railway at Northfield, MN. A Class 1 connection to Union Pacific is also nearby.

RE: CP and UP connections

I saw that and that's what I was thinking.... but then I saw the video (page header) and what boxcar do you see? -Big Blue CSX-

Again to everyone.. appreciate the replies...

Technically railroads will deliver anything a customer needs regardless of where it comes from in the U.S or provide empties that are suitable to get their products to where they need to go. I would not get too hung up about the rolling stock origin roads but concentrate on getting the car types that the customer needs for the products they require or they manufacturer for others. CP and UP rolling stock would do very nicely and there are a lot of them to choose from on the DLS.....
