Invisible track

Hi,
I've just returned to Trainz having used 2004 in the past, now using 2009.
I know it's old but I didn't want to buy new if I was unable to use the newer version.

I am interested in tram systems and looked for 1m gauge track.
unable to find enough I used Trainz Asset Creation Studio to create some track.
Having looked at Blender but find it difficult to understand.
I can see the track using Trains Mesh Viewer and it has no errors.

However I can install the track in Surveyor and attach to it move it etc.
but it does not show up at all. changing height makes no difference.

I have a feeling that sometime in the past I came across this and there was a simple fix.

Could someone please point me in the right direction.

Thanks for any help.

As an update, just found out that the ends of the track show in surveyor.
Interesting as I did not specifically paint those using the UVunwrap, just took the default colour.

David,

There is 1 meter track on the DLS. Look for 1000 mm gauge tram track. FMA has some under the HOTT series and there is some 1 meter track by Vincentrh and others.

I'm not sure if you're having fun or not making your own, but I thought I'd mention this in case you're interested.

John,

Thanks for that info, will investigate/

The main problem with most of the track, there is no inside check rail.

Yes I did enjoy creating my own, but wondered if I was duplicating what someone else had already done.

I still haven't solved the invisible track yet, in progress/

I would really like a little help please !!

I am still trying to get track to display in surveyor.

It show up in the thumbnail as I painted it but not when laid down.

The circle ends show and I can do everything with the track except see it.

Thanks for any suggestions.

David.

If you switch to wire mesh view in surveyor, can you see it then?

Rail height should be z=0.3m in max / Gmax, that's top surface of the rail.

Malc,

No, only in the surveyor in the selection box.

The ends show up as circles and can be used as normal rail ie junctions etc.

The end caps of each length also show up so I can see where the rail should be.

Thanks for looking into this, I'm still building using other track so may be slow answering

David
