In Surveyor, how do you add an object (i.e. industry) that has load/unload properties?
From the objects list, is there a way to tell which object has load/unload properties?

Thanks,
Al

You often cannot tell just by looking (some of these "active industries", as they are called, are actually invisible).

One method that does work in Surveyor is,

  1. Open the full find search window (press Ctrl-Shift-F)
  2. Click the + sign near the top of the window
  3. Click inside the Name box and scroll UP to locate "Category"
  4. Click inside the second box and select "Industry"
  5. Open the Object Tool Window (press F3), the filter will now only show active industries (with load/unload properties)

When you have finished your search, click the Clear button to clear the filter and then hit the ESCape key to remove it.

There are two types of industries. You can't tell one from the other unless you install the asset (it does not matter if connected to track or not). Once it is visible click on the asset and click on the question mark to access details and how to set-up. If it is one of these "Multiple industry new" ((long ago was new..), you will see the config screen with queues, tracks and all that. That asset will load and unload when properly configured. Normally these don't have visual commodity function so the only way to see the boxes are when they show in a wagon, and you can select from a menu what you are using (containers, pipes or wheat). Then there are industries that even if they call them as interactive, all they do is to allow you to view the boxes or lumber by the track. Those, depending of how they were created, will allow only loading or unloading and the commodities are set and you can't change them. Overall, the system works, albeit with a few quirks.
