Default 286 Loaded Ore Wagons Derailed to Stop a Runaway Train

A fully loaded ore train of 268 wagons on a runaway train was derailed in the remote Pilbara region of Western Australia by train controllers 1,500 km away. The train was not under remote control at the time.

268 wagons would be a major cleanup mess.

About 240 wagons in the dirt, the first 2 locos and about 20 wagons derailed but were upright. The rest stacked up side by side on top of each other too.

A 68 mph intentional pileup crash must have been a spectacular scene to watch from a distance
