Dependency No Longer On DLS

Vern

Trainz Maverick
Trying to install some of Jay Holland's EMU's but get this error:

- <NULL> Unable to search asset <kuid2:190624:53442:1>. Asset removed due to a terms of service violation..

Showing as a missing dependency. Any idea as to what the item was, what the offence was that caused it to be removed and whether there is a (legit) alternative download source.

At present the BIL, COR, Double Deck and SUB units cannot be used (there may be others). Is the author aware of the issue?

This unfortunately illustrates the issue when a creator, usually inadvertently, uses an asset which is subsequently decreed as illegal and otherwise good trainset assets are trashed.

It must be fairly recent Shane as ISTR downloading these units into TANE within the last few months. I'll have a look and see if it's still there which of course would solve my problem but not that of others who don't have it. A shame N3V couldn't have looked into other assets which use the dependency before deleting it or negotiated with the parties concerned to avoid deleting (which I always understood was a last resort anyway).

The original version is on the DLS, <KUID:23299:53000> Z23308 enginesound by java23, originally was on a third party site, which is probably why whoever got away with cloning it for so long.

Would help if creators updated the assets to use the original one rather than this dodgy version from TPR where it may get pulled if this question keeps getting asked as it probably will!

Hopefully the CRG can do a little update, in the meantime I'll have a ferret in Jay's config file and update to the above for my own personal use.

Unfortunately the asset in question is used by several UK EMUs by various creators. It would be quite a job to find out each one and getting them to replace the enginesound.

It also means that quite a few people are bound to be asking the same question.

Perhaps the repair group could replace it with the correct one.

The usual reasons are:

- The author requested it. (rare)

- The assets were uploaded illegally and had to be removed.

- The author made up a fake KUID.

Back in the olden days, the DLS system wouldn't check, but today it does. The same with Content Manager which will also block invalid KUIDs.

Service violation usually means they were illegal copies or reskins, the 127s? may be due to the config not being typed properly and defaulting to 127, perhaps look for asset versions?

<kuid:146087:27055> and <kuid:146087:27064> are on the DLS

You are right about the .127 version number. This resulted when an asset was uploaded as a kuid2 format but without a version number assigned. For example, kuid2:xxxxx:zzzzzz became kuid2:xxxxx:zzzzzz:127
